The personal attention to detail.
A little too formal for the evening meal

Can't recommend more highly, was like staying in someone's beautiful home. Staff were friendly and welcoming, with a very relaxed attitude. Amazing food in their restaurant. Would return in a heartbeat.

Top-notch place to stay with helpful staff and modern rooms. Beautiful surroundings, conveniently located near restaurants, bars, the town center, and easy to access the charming town.

We liked best the gourmet dining. The chef made us feel welcomed in his dining room.
The room (211) was pleasant. Very clean. Beautiful view on garden and of the walled city. Only one problem: the taps in bathroom need to be changed since they are very old and discolored, which gives an effect of not being clean (but they were clean...).

We had a lovely time. The breakfast was enjoyable with local cheeses, worth the price. Location: the hotel was adjacent to the Chateau's alternative restaurant in the town, and the pretty town and market area. Found Le Victor Hugo with perfect drinks 200 metres away.

We booked our stay here last minute and we were pleasantly surprised with this place. The location within the ancient ramparts was stunning and the views were fantastic. The service was top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff, including the notably cheerful chambermaids. The room was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the welcome drink and the delicious coffee served with amazing shortbread. We wished we could have stayed longer to explore the area more. We highly recommend this hotel to families.

We were due to arrive after a long journey in time for dinner. About 5 hours away I realised that we would not make the time. The receptionist volunteered to have a cold meal arranged for our arrival an hour after the kitchens closed. An outstanding meal which set the tone for the stay

Super helpful staff who are always willing to assist with whatever you need. The folks here are nice, especially the cleaning team who seem to always be in a good mood 😊. You won't go hungry with the variety of tasty meal choices available.

Comfort, calm and service, in a beautiful and tranquil setting. It is no adverse reflection on the cuisine to say that breakfast on the terrace is a particular treat. There have been evolutionary changes and improvements to the hotel since a first visit over 30 years ago, but in substance it remains delightfully unchanged.
Like all good things, the experience does not come cheap - but its prices are well advertised.

Outstanding in every respect. Superb service, utterly delicious food, the most comfortable of rooms (even our dog was given a bed and waterbowl) and in the most delightful of locations in the most charming of French towns. Quite simply the most spoiling of treats for the most special of occasions. Not cheap but worth every penny. Charm, quality and very very special.

Did you know Montreuil was the site of the british high command during the first world war. It is full of history and is an fortified town with magnificent views for miles and miles of the surrounding countryside. The Chateau is in the middle of the town.

An extremely pleasant stay with delightful staff, very comfortable and excellent food. Not cheap but nothing took us by surprise. Strongly recommended.
The only thing that caused us to raise an eyebrow were the bedside lights. We enjoy reading in bed but the lights were so dim, (we were told to save energy!!) and the light footprint so limited that reading became something of a challenge and not the relaxation we normally experience. This is emphatically not a complaint but we haven't encountered it before.
